A Religion that doesnt celebrate christmas

Muslims: Muslims don't consider the mythical character Jesus to be a god like christians do. It is not a national holiday in their region. Christians celebrate christmas because they are celebrating the birth of jesus christ, Messiah and part of the trinity. Muslims believe he is just a prophet so they don't really have the desire to celebrate his birth. So basically christmas is a christian celebration not a muslim celebration. Muslims don't believe Jesus was the savior like the savior in the song O Holy Night.

Muslims celebrate Ramadan, in November they only have water or juice for 14 days and on the 15th they eat food then go for another 14 days. They also don't celebrate christmas because christmas day was not the day of Jesus birth. They celebrate Eid ul- Fitr instead of christmas. That normally marks  the end of the water 14 days of Ramadan and it often occurs on the 1st day of the tenth month. There are lots of celebrations in this period.

A rose by any other name

….a rose by any other name….
A rose by any other name was from the play Romeo and Juliet. This play was set in Verona Italy in the 14th century. The phrase means what matters it was something is not what it is called. It was in the play made for William Shakspeare. The play and the phrase is very famous in the theatre. The rose metaphor is said on the plays famous balcony scene. The play is a romantic comedy.

William Shakespeare wrote many quotes and he is very famous. In the play it was Juliet who said that line. That is not the full saying the full saying is: A rose by any other name would smell so sweet.  Sometimes the play is one on the movie channel. People sometimes call him Shakespeare instead of his whole name. Many people still love this play because it is so romantic. I haven't seen this play yet but I want to  though I would cry as my mum did when she saw it ages ago. She said it as a reference to Romeo's house.

45 Minute Inquiry

New Uniform Design

It will need a label, different sizes to fit everyone. It will need a tag so you can put your name on the item. It will be comfortable, cost, size, easy to take off, not hot in the summer. This will be for T.I.S students next year.

The winter uniform together would cost $150. The top would cost $25, the skirt would cost $20, The shoes would cost $100 and the shocks would cost $5. The summer uniform would cost $55. The top for $15, the skirt for 25 and $15. These uniforms would be very comfortable and light so when it is hot you won't be too hot. The P.E uniform costs $106.  The shorts are breathable and the top stretches. The shoes are light on your feet so you don't stomp the ground and they have little breathing holes so you feet don't smell really bad.

TGC Visit

Today year 8 girls went to TGC for orientation day. Mrs Ferguson talked to us about heaps of stuff. We were given a pack by a teacher we went and saw with our guides. The deans for year 9s next year are Mrs Glaser Brown and Mrs Keightley. They will be looking after the year 8 girls this year that are going to be year 9 next year. My guide wasn't very helpful because she didn't talk loud enough when we asked questions. The motto for TGC is Pergo et Perago. That means I go on and finish. I thought it was quite boring doing the tour and sitting down because it was too stuffy and loud. We got talked to by the head girl Adriana Bird. She was really pretty and nice.  Here is an image of us in the old gym getting talked too. I asked some questions and I saw my sister coming out of class. I waved to her but she called me a swear word. I am not ready for college.

Review: A book, a movie or a game

                                                                            Identity Thief
                                                                    Directed by Seth Gordon

Identity thief was created in 2013. It is an American  crime/comedy film, written by Craig Mason and directed by Seth Gordon. The main characters are Melissa Mccarthy and Jason Bateman.

Sandy Patterson (Jason Bateman) gets a call from Melissa Mccarthy saying someone has attempted to steal his identity. Melissa Mccarthy gets his identity and now has all his money. She goes on a huge shopping spree using his identity and she gets caught. I wonder if you know what happens next?

I think this is the funniest movie and I give it 4 stars. The thing I didn't like about it was the swearing. There was way too much of it in the film.

Dystopian Picture

People smell the toxic fumes that are polluting the air. The cars are passing out fumes and all you smell is disgusting stuff from the cars and the huge pipes at a factory. Smell the smoke. Smoke black as the night sky when it is pitch black with no stars or moon showing.

People hear all the cars engine and lights. The pipes in the factory set off huge noises which spread around the country. All the people yelling at each other about the traffic and that makes babies scream. Noises as loud as an elephant charging at her enemies which are trying to get her baby.

All around is the dark black clouds of pollution going into the air and the cars not going anywhere. The lights of the cars are flashing. All these huge pipe will block peoples view of the sky. The sky is grey and not blue.  You see so many cars that you think you are looking at all the types of candy in a candy shop.

You feel all the cars crowding up around like a litter of kittens that are warm and wanting cuddles. You feel the warmth. You feel all the black clouds going into the air. You can feel your getting tighter clenching on to the steering wheel.

You can taste the fumes going into your mouth when you breathe. You also taste the food that you ate before hand coming up your throat try to get out because you want to vomit.

Dialogue

A discussion with miss C about your behavior this year:

Miss C" How do you think you behavior has been this year?"
Me" I think I have been alright what do you think?"
Miss C" I agree you have done well, do you know anything you need to improve on?"
Me" I need to improve on making my homework more neater and making it a higher level!"
Miss C" Yes that is a good point, you homework level has been quite low so improve on that!"
Me"I will try make it to a higher standard so I can be on the excellence list!"

Mrs Mills speaking to students about the year 8 final assembly:

Mrs Mills" What do you think about the year 8 assembly length?"
Students" We think it is too long, 3 hours is a long time!"
Mrs Mills" Yeah 3 hours is long but it is long because of all the awards and singing and trophies!"
Students" What if you are not getting an award or trophy what will we be doing?"
Mrs Mills" You will be sitting down cheering for the people that do get the awards!"
Students" I guess at least one of my friends will be getting an award so I will cheer for them!"

Mr Scholes questioning you about your academic progress this year:

Mr Scholes" Do you know what the national standard is for the end of year 8?"
Me" Is it 4p-4a or somewhere around that?"
Mr Scholes" Yes it is have you remembered it from when you teachers have told you?"
Me" Yes and I have seen it on the board a couple times!"
Mr Scholes" That is good that you have remembered it not many kids know what it is!"
Me" Thank you I will try to get up to the standard by the end of the year!"

Poem

Rain
It poured
Nobody stopped Rimu
We headed to waimarino
I got to waimarino safely
I didn't stay dry
Kayaking was cold
I moaned
Freezingly

Diving
I did
Most of time
The blob was great
I went on it once
I Bombed two times
My dad came
Weather changed
Heaps

Cold
Not allowed
We couldn't swear
Or say those words
We had to do pushups
I completed the swimming
Challenge without trouble
I wasn't
warm

Blog Post

  • Go to the attitude website and take the personality survey.
  • Write a summary of your person type
  • Write the 4 messages Dave from attitude had for us yesterday and explain what they mean

I am 34% Otter: That means I like to have fun, I am bright and funny. I am also 19% beaver, 22% Golden retriever and 25% lion. I am kind, I love challenges. I am enthusiastic.  Otters are creative love to have fun and are always friendly. They always try to make things fun and like doing fun challenges.

Yesterday when Dave came to talk to us he had 4 messages which were: Try something new, Dump dumb thoughts, Help others and do the write things.

Try something new: Go out and do new things with your friends. If you think of something to do and you are scared just try it because you will most likely have heaps of fun. You will be much happier looking if you try something that you haven't before.

Dump dumb thoughts: When you think you can't do it just take that thought away and say you can do it. You will be brighter if you make these thoughts go away. Count to 100 and your bad thoughts will go away.

Help others: When someone like an old lady needs help carrying her groceries ask her and you will make her day. When kids fall over and hurt themselves go up to them ask if they are okay and help them up. Helping others is friendly and if you help them.

12 Hour Relay

It was Friday and I was prepared
I was honestly so scared
When the starting noise went everyone was off
I had a really bad cough
With my first run I had to find the right pace
12 hour relay was such a big race
I did 16 laps not as much as last year
This track that we ran on was clear
I was chased on a bike three times
I wondered how the teachers put out the lines
Where the tent was it was in a perfect spot for me
Though a lot of times I had to go pee
At the end of the day heaps of people were sore
The highlight of the day was what the people wore
The field was so packed
Luckily My bones didn't crack
The sun was so strong but then the weather went bad
When I got picked up I went and saw my dad
I brought heaps of water in the day
All I wanted to do was go home and be away.

12 Hour relay Disaster

Mrs Mills's jaw gaped open and her eyes rolled skyward as the huge hail fell from the sky. Hail was about and the teachers were not happy. They thought of closing 12 hour relay down but Mr Diver demanded to let the kids keep going. The hail was the size of pandas. Fat and heavy the hail was and you didn't want to get hit because you would die. The tents were protecting some people but the people that were running had no protection. The teachers were trying to get Mr Diver to call it off but he didn't want to. The medical tent was full of kids that were hit by the panda size hail. The tents were getting hammered by the hail because there was so much of it. Teachers wondered how this hail had appeared because it was such a sunny day but then one dropped then it started.

Where the food market was all the food was covered in white stuff.  All of the p.e gear which the kids were wearing was dirty wet and soon to be unwearable. A teacher noticed that the hail was only happening at tauranga intermediate. It was honestly so strange and the hail was getting worse so Mr Diver finally called the relay off because the medical tent was overflowing with squashed kids. The tent that got hit the most was tawas. When Mr Diver called the relay off all the teachers were so happy but the hail didn't stop there.

Life Education

This term we have been having our life education sessions. One of the topics we have been learning about is drugs. Everyone in our class made a presentation about an individual drug so that we can extend our knowledge. I made my presentation to a class member and they have given me feedback below.

Success criteria:
Confidence when they deliver their presentation
Their knowledge is genuine
Information in own words
No reading off the page, not to much text
Pictures match content
Well chosen images
Not to long, not to short

A letter to Mr diver about changing something at this school.

Dear Mr Diver:

As a year 8 and it is my last year I want you to get some ideas for this school changing in the future. I think you should change the playground. Lots of kids play on it but it is too small and lots of kids crash into each other. The playground is kind of kiddy but in my opinion it is way too small. I like the monkey bars on the playground but there should be swings and a slide.

Poem About 12 hour relay last year

Last year I was in the team
I thought it must of been a dream
My parents were so happy with me
Though a lot of times I had to go pee
That day it was so fun
By about 5pm I was done
I hated getting chased by the teachers on the bikes
In my feet I had a lot of spikes
That day I drunk heaps
When I ran I did big leaps
My mum did come and see me but not till late
She brought her weird mate
My dad didn't come and see me at all
At one stage when I was running I wanted to crawl
At the end of the day my family took me home and they were proud
My family asked how I was still so loud
When I go home I went to bed
My family thought I was dead
I didn't even want to be fed.

Life ed on Monday

On Monday when we did life ed I was not there. I was doing duties. I guess Michael talked  about the pros and cons of doing drugs. He is teaching us about getting out of tough situations like when you get passed drugs and you don't want to take them. I wanted to go so I could learn new things.

Advice

Q: I found out my two friends smoke. I'm only 13. I don't know what to do. I am really confused. Please Help. Give advice.

A: When they smoke maybe go hang with someone else you know. Don't try the smoke because you might have effects. Maybe tell your parents about it and they might give you advice. You should let them know the consequences are so that if they get in trouble they know what's coming. Tell them that they are too young and that it isn't good for you health. You don't want them to get addicted or even smoke and if they offer you one say no and walk away. You will get heaps offered to you and that might be sporting careers and jobs but they might not allow smokers. Ask them why they are doing it and don't let them influence you. If you want them to live a healthy life with good lungs give them things to help them stop like lozenges. Tell the counselor at school so that they can help your friends.

Social Dance Last Night

Last night was Rimu House Social. I thought it was so fun but I didn't like dancing with my mum because she sucked. I loved the change a partner samba because that is my favourite dance. When we did the first dance with the parents it was so cramped we could hardly move but it was fun. My mum hated me for picking her in the first dance which was the change a partner dance. I picked Oliver for the cha cha because he is really good at it. My dad showed up near the end because he has a board meeting for gate pa school. I didn't want him to come anyway because he is embarrassing. My mum made me lamingtons to bring. The were so yummy. I had a lamington and the puff pastry thing which was so so so yummy. I loved dancing with my mum.

A Recount Of A Formal Occasion

The day was finally here. My Aunt's wedding. It was one day In june. I can't really remember. My aunty was finally getting married after spending 10 years with her boyfriend. It was in Auckland and I hated the travel there. My family had to go as the flintstones or addams family. We went as the flintstones because we love them. It was under a huge oak tree at a rugby ground. The service when they become husband and wife only lasted 20 minutes which was long for me. I loved the food party. We went to this huge restaurant. As we went in we got told where to sit and we got some drinks and some lite snacks. I had orange juice and some pizza bread. When everybody arrived the adults had a toast and then we were allowed to eat. My first plate had spicy barbecue wings, a caesar salad and a chicken rice bowl. I had like 4 plates of food. My dad kept eating the seafood chowder which I hate. The lady that served my family gave me heaps of water because I was so full. My second plate had some pasta with fried tomatoes and tuna. I loved that plate the most because of the pasta. I cant remember my other plates but my mum said it looked disgusting but it was nice. The couple sitting next to our family thought I was a human garbage bin.

Friday The 13th

Today is Friday the 13th. It is Black Friday. People are superstitious about this day. This day is considered unlucky in the western country. There is 12 months in a year, 12 greek gods, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 successors of Muhammad in Shia and many more. There is one superstition from the last supper with god that having thirteen people seated at a table results in a death of one of the people eating. In our time heaps of things are considered bad luck like opening an umbrella inside or seeing a black cat crossing your path. Seeing an owl is daylight is also considered bad luck. Apparently Friday the 13th is when things go bad. People are so superstitious about Friday the 13th. I think it is all fake. To be honest I do believe in some things like opening an umbrella indoors. So many people believe the black cat rumour where if you cross in one's path you will have hell coming you way. My mum believes in heaps of bad luck. She says don't put your hat on your bed

Blog Post

Yesterday my class had Mrs Gilmore because Miss Campbell was sick. She was alright but I would rather have Miss Campbell. We did what we were told and listened but she seemed grumpy.  None of us were naughty.  When we did our work she just talked and sometimes helped us. I didn't mind her because she wasn't mean but I would rather have Miss Campbell because she makes us do more work. I am not used to Mrs Gilmore so that would be why I didn't like her that much. It wasn't much of a busy day because all of 2 block we had a spca presentation in the gym and in first block we had social and then maths. Last block we just did homework finishing and just some small tasks that we haven't finished. Mrs Gilmore helped me with finishing my homework shape task. We talked quite a lot and I don't know why.  I liked that maths the most. In the Spca presentation it was so funny. Norm Hewitt was the guy that talked to us. He showed us photos of how we are compared to animals with the way we look when we have different emotions. He also told us about what he wanted to be when he was growing up. At first in life he wanted to be a cowboy but then he wanted to be a rugby player. He was in the All Blacks for quite a long time and then in 2005 he won dancing with the stars. He didn't think he would actually be a dancer because he loved rugby. He also told how to broke the cycle of violence in his family because his dad used to be up his mother and him as a child. He said to care for our pets. He has a family and pets which he talked about. He kept saying awesome in a really funny voice. Another lady from the Spca came and told us about her pets and kids. She has 5 kids and heaps of pets. Her oldest pet is her Bulldog which is 70 something in human years. That is very very old. His name is Ozzy. She said when all her children move out she will get more pets because they are her life. She showed us a photo of her dogs. She has heaps of dogs. Norm said that he had a horse called tommy a cat called fluffy and another animal called storm.  He was so so cool. His animals were his best friends and he told them stuff that he didn't even tell his parents or his friends.  I thought he was very cool and he taught me a lot.

Room Sketcher Parisl

News Review

Man in cow onesies got caught stealing steak:

A man dressed in a cow onesie was caught stealing steak from a supermarket in Nelson. It happened on a Friday afternoon in August.  Because onesies are an uncommon piece of clothing the offender was probably not trying to look like the steak he was stealing. The store doesn't know yet how much steak was stolen.  The man dresses in the onesies entered the store with two other people and stole some porterhouse steak from the meat section. The trio left in a red car but no one was able to catch the number plate. The shop was Raeward Fresh. The shoplifter was caught by a shopper when he was in action.  The police confirmed that this was deliberate and not just out of the blue because there has been other cases when people plan to steal steak from this store because it has low security.

Practical task Homework Week4

This is my house. 193 Fraser street. I moved into this house 1 month before my 5th birthday. I don't like this house because it is old and tiny. I have to share a room which I hate.
Walking the 1km took me 12 minutes and 33 seconds. This walk was not the easiest.  Where the 1km ended was by a church for indians. I like this walk.

Poem About Spring

A Poem about the nice sunny weather:

On a sunny hot day.
The sun needs no shadow.
A beautiful image appears from the sky.
It must be the pretty nature shining around us.
Sun shining all around lights up our faces.
It is so warm like a furnace.
People must love the nature in spring.
Everybody has to keep safe in burning sun.
Though the sun is hot you have to play outside to enjoy the weather.
Rain clouds are no longer about.
The animals we be playing around and the flowers will be gloaming.
You can not stay inside and play video games when the weather is like this.
Animals will be born and the world will keep growing.
The grass will grow very tall and you will have to mow your lawns.
You can plant all your vegetables so that they will grow.

Washoe the Chimp

Self defence

The large tree

This tree measures up to 33.12 meters This is a close up version

This is the top of it

This is me with the tree
This tree I planted when I was five and it was only very little. It is kind of deformed because it splits off in the middle into two parts but the split has an ants nest in it. I play on it all the time. My mum put a swing on it a couple of years ago but it broke so I just climb it and sit on a fat trunk. My mum thinks it is the same age as me but she is wrong. I love this tree so much. The photos are kinda bad because of the angle of the shot. I didn't take lots of photos. Sorry about that. I measure this tree by taking a photo of me and then cropped it duplicated it and then put the same photos up until it reached the top of the tree.

Describe Someone In Our Class

Her hair is brown and brown eyes. This person is tall and has huge hands. She is kind and very smart in writing and reading. She is friendly but she is not that social. Her hair is not that long. She is quiet but when you get to know her she is very loud. She loves the Internet and it is like her husband. She knows many things but is always late in doing things. She wears a headband and she is a very nice person. Her fave colour is blue and she loves games and fizzy drinks. She catches a bus and she loves school at times. The fringe she has is huge and she hates running. She is a close friend. She can be very weird when you have known her for so long.

Paris Photo Editing Homework

Morning Blog Post

Some boys from our school yesterday ran off with some scooters. They ran off and some people from our class went and looked for them with Mr Scholes. They stole a red scooter and two white ones from the bike shed behind the school by the estuary. They were being n00bs by doing it and they pulled the fingers at Mr Scholes when he found them back at school. These boys from our class went on a huge adventure to find these boys and it was funny when they told the story. I think the boys that stole the scooters didn't want to stay at school so they just wagged but it was quite a bad ending. I hope the scooters that are still lost are found because they are very expensive scooters. I hope they get caught because that is mean what they did and they were so stupid.

Inference: He knew he wasn't doing the right thing. His mind was just overpowering. He couldn't say it because if he did he would get in even more trouble than he is at the moment.

Spaghetti on Toast

Daniel Tammet

Daniel Tammet is a man that has memorised over 20000 numbers of pi with no mistakes. He recited 22,514 decimal places of pie. He is called a savant. Savants are very brainy in 1-2 things. He is autistic. He can memorise things very well and say them forward but then say them backwards. There is only 52 true savants in the world.  He is one of the 50 or so true Savants in this world being very brainy.  His memory is amazing. He is 34 born 1979 on January 31. He can memorise a long line of digits and repeat them with no mistakes which I think is very cool. They call Daniel the brain man because of his very smart brain. I want to be like him because he is so smart.  Normally people who are autistic can't look after themselves but are very good at one thing. He knows more than 10 languages which must be so hard. He learnt Icelandic on only 2 weeks which is very impressive.

Poem About Weekend

A poem of my weekend: Rhyming poem

My weekend was wild.
My mums hair has a new style.
My dad made pancakes which were so yum.
My little sister had a sore tum tum.
On Sunday I fell off my new swing.
My older sister stole one of my mom's ring.
On Saturday night I made a chocolate layer cake.
On discovery channel I watched a megalodon shark programme which seemed so fake.
I thought my mum was in a grump at me.
She actually sprained her knee.
My weekend was quite appalling.
I found out at around three in the morning it is not cool when your dad has really loud snoring.
My mum on saturday morning made a new friend.
My brother got given a white labrador so he has to build a den.

Morning Blog post

Over the last 2 days we have had a reliever called Miss Verster. She was here because Mrs Campbell  hurt her back. She was a very fun teacher but she knew when to get serious. When we were naughty she had consequences for us. In free time we got to colour in pictures, do work sheets and make cubes. I like making a dodecahedron. She played music but it was only soft songs so we had something to inspire us. I liked the colouring in pages she made for us. I did the lizard in highlighter and a goanna in pencil. She was a very kind teacher when we were nice to her. We did quizzes but they were easy. When she played the music it was only played when we were good and if we became loud she turned it off.

Her accent was a bit annoying but I managed to cope. She thought most of the students were well behaved. There were only about 4 boys that were naughty. I think they were just taking advantage of the reliever because she hasn't been in our class very long. If we were naughty she had a worksheet for us if we were being naughty. I didn't get it because I was being very well behaved apparently. I was always quiet and some of us helped her out with what to do for the day. I loved colouring the shark because of the patterns on it. She was a quiet teacher but when she had to be loud to calm us down she did. I want her more often as a reliever teacher instead of Mrs Venter because she is actually nice and Mrs Venter is a mean old grumpy lady.

Bullying

Statement-  My experience of bullying at school:

At primary I was bullied for being the smallest in the school. I was year 6 and the year 1 kids were taller than me when we had our measurement test. There was one kid called Iziah that bullied me everyday because he was taller then me and he was year 2. This happened all through year 5 and 6 but one day it stopped. I told this particular boy if he bullied me I would get mr Inder our principal involved. When I told him that it spread around like head lice. No one bullied me because they were afraid what mr Inder would do. I thought some people were afraid of me because they knew what I could do.

Some people started to bully other people because they were small but that sucked. I decided to tell my principal and he dealt with it. He said anyone that bullies people because they are small or coloured will be suspended for a week and have a meeting with me.

I think it sucks that people are bullying because some people are jealous.  All it is is jealousy because they are better than them. A bully should be home schooled so he wouldn't bully anyone. Bullies are just jealous of the people that they bully which I think is very stupid. Don't be jealous and be like them. Just be yourself and you will have fun.

How to video

Annoying things

Something that annoys me.

It annoys me that I have a older sister Victoria that bosses me around all the time because she thinks that I need special help. She says since that she is older than me she has more control over me but she doesn't. My mum says she can't boss me around because I will go mental at her. She is really annoying and my mum said that she needs to be normal. My dad always says she is annoying and that she needs to get her attitude sorted out because she always backchat's to my mum. She tells me that I don't deserve to be in the family because I am so stupid. She always does nothing and tells me that she does everything. My parents are sick of her being so naughty and they want her to go to military school so she could be straightened out. She hates doing any work she so hides out in her room until jobs are done. Sometimes she can be alright but that is like once in two months. My dad never talks to her because she can be so annoying and she always asks him for money to go out.

Another thing that annoys me is when people die when being sick. They shouldn't die in pain and under so many pills and machines. You should die in peace and not in pain. R.I.P means rest in peace but you can't if you are in pain. If you are  in pain you should be in the comfort of your own home. Cancer is the worst. You are put under chemotherapy and that can make you worse and you are always so tired.

Languages

In class we have started to learn Languages on Monday and Wednesday in block 3. Some people go to Miss Mills and the other people go to Ms Campbell. Ms Campbell does Mandarin and Miss Mills  does sign language. I am doing mandarin and it is very fun. I have done 2 lessons and I have learnt more then I have expected. I want to carry one at college and do Mandarin but I don't think they have it. I am learning Pinyin and Hanzi. Pinyin is awesome. There are 4 different tones in Mandarin. The tones are easy and fun to learn. I like all tones but I love the 3 tone the most. The number 4 is bad luck and the number 8 is good luck. Mandarin is a cool Language because there are so many different words that are hard to pronounce.

Where Am I

Where Am I:

There are a lot of people around talking and moving .
Lots of items are around me.
People are pushing and shoving.
I  hear heaps of noises and an occasional alarm.
Every one is doing something but not in the same place.
I see a lot of things I haven't seen before.
I can feel people breathing on my neck which I find quiet creepy.
People are so close together I feel uncomfortable.
I smell some rotten things and people that smell bad.
I always look at the people crowding the cold section.
There are a lot of things that I want because they look so yummy.

Morning Blog Post

In the holidays it was quiet sad. I found out my auntie was going to die of liver cancer. I have meet her before but I don't know much about her. I cant remember her name which I think is embarrassing but I hope I get to see her before she dies again. She has the latest of 2 months to die which is very sad. Her husband Grant is very very upset because they have only been together for about 2 years. With her being sick she wants to be in a cosy environment at home when she dies so the hospital let her go home but be on watch by nurses. I hope she dies with out any pain because that would be sad if she died with pain. My mum doesn't know exactly when she is going to die but it will be before 2 months because the cancer is going all over her body and it is getting worse by the week. Her Liver is so bad but she is managing to cope with the pain when she has her medication. I hope her husband Grant will be alright because my mum is afraid he will lose the plot.

After finding out about the death going to happen my dad asked if we wanted to go over to her funeral when she dies but my mum didn't want to because she is still so shocked. I wanted to go but I am afraid of meeting my mums family. My mum doesn't like any of her brothers and 2 of her sisters. I like my mums brother Craig because he is really funny when he pulls jokes on me. He is also very kind and he teaches me about random things that I never knew existed before. I don't know where the funeral is going to be because our family hasn't decided. I hope she dies in peace but I didn't want her to die in the first place.

Term2 Overview

Main events this term was camp for me. Camp was awesome because I was not with my brother or sisters. Camp was in the Kamai ranges. My dad came for the week and helped. I didn't want him to come because he always gets grumpy.

My highlight was cross country. Cross country was so fun because people got to show their abilities. I did do better then last year but I still wanted to get a better mark. I still loved doing it but my feet were very cold. I ran with a girl from Rata but I didn't get her name. I came 51 which is quiet good because there were over 250 students.

My low light was Science fair. I didn't do it very well an it was boring. I failed because my board was not detailed. It was plain white. Though I didn't like doing it I liked looking at other peoples boards. I liked a year 7 students technology board.  Some people did very well but lots of us didn't get a yellow sticker because we were up against Totara the smart house. I could of done a lot better than I did but I could not be stuffed. I didn't get a yellow sticker which I know I wouldn't

I have improved at maths. I think from the start of this term I have improved a lot. I was very dumb at the start of this term but now I think I am average. In my ikan I got stage 7 which is a lot better then my last test.

I still need to improve on is my writing. I am quiet dumb in writing because I dont understand what I write. Writing is a challenge for me because I dont like doing it. I am trying to get better but I need to start doing it more in the weekends or after school. My mum is teaching me how to write more deeper text. I need to get better at punctuation as well. My mum is helping me with reading between the lines and using bigger words to make it more complex.

G1. Design your own challenge

For my Rimu house challenge in the giving category, I decided to do the adopt an egg one. I thought is was going to be really hard since you can't break it and you have to treat it like it was your child. First I chose an egg and drew on a fave and hair, witch took heaps of goes as I kept making the eyes smaller than the other one. After about the third egg I got the eyes right but it was so hard. I loved the eyes because they were so cute. I decided to make it a girl and her name was Izzy. It was really fun decorating her container that she lived in.  I coloured it rainbow.

When I looked after Izzy my sister kept trying to take it out of the container and brake her but I wouldn't let her. Izzy really stunk after 3 days because I didn't wash her. Izzy always slept next to my pillow on my bed and I gave her a light. She was fun to have because I learnt how to be responsable. Her hair was really weird because I couldn't draw very well because she kept moving.

This is Izzy

Book Review 3

Horrible history
The terrible truth about time
By Nick arnold

The terrible truth about time will get your ticker racing!Don't wait a minute longer  to discover:What happens if you get too close to a black hole.If you think you can stomach the sick side of science, then read on as it clocks up your brain with timeless chapters.

In London professor lincolnton was fixing the biggest clock in the world when the hands fell off.He was so upset he got his assistant Chris to help him. When Chris got there they got up to the hands and they fell down. They broke all their bones and died.3 minutes later the whole clock face fell down on them.Everyone was so  surprised and upset. The clock managers were so angry that they blew up the whole tower. There was a great big hole in the middle town and people fell in.The story goes on and on and gets boring.

A brilliantly  good humored and amusing story of the time in london where the clocks failed and people got angry. The bad thing about the book is it gets boring.

Book Review 2

The Dream Fight And Other Creation Tales
Ted Hughes

This book is different because the story line keeps changing. This talks about god a lot and how the world became.A Lot  of different things that don’t make sense are in the book.

A million years ago god decided that he should make living things. He first made a whale. The process was over a thousand years and it was hard. The process was:make it out of clay then put it in a oven for 100 years the breath fire into it to make fire.

When satan saw god doing this he thought that he might make something to show off about. He thought what to make but he knew where he lived in the center of the earth would be too hot for the clay.He decided to make it out of rocks and jewels. He knew he couldn’t  breathe fire into to it because he was not god.

When the process was over he took it to god and showed him.God said that it was a magnificent creation and that he should be proud. Then god decided to show all the animals  he made.he had names for all of them.

Their are so many other chapters in the book.I recommend this book for people who believe in god and that love different styles. This book in my opinion could of been a bit better and more descriptive.Thsi book could have bigger chapters.

Book Review 1

As in Eden

  • The characteristics were well explained
  • The language could of been better
  • The setting was good

This book is about god and religions.

They fled. The bright calm green and  sunlight rippling of the river, the fruit scent ,the scent of lilies and gentle in closing shades of the trees-that were collapsing  around them. They were folding into nameless things. They fled from the horror and voiceless howling surrounding them. The family was not welcome anywhere .The kids were familiar of the places they went, they had to learn in school. Every couple of days they hunted and hunted for food and shelter. Every night they starved and begged for forgiveness. Ishmael the dad  never begged  or wanted all he did was pray.

The first time they reached another  place they set up camp and stayed till they were healthy again. They hardly ever got better though because they gave the food to the kids.Everyone was worried they might get tracked down and held captive. They never stayed for long because they needed to reach their destination which was Eden.Toroa the only girl wondered if she could run but her muscles were badly hurt and she had bites everywhere. Her mother  Samlie wanted the best for her children but they could never have a bright future because of there dark  past. Misral the son wanted to hunt like his dad and be a warrior.

They were so happy  they weren’t haunted down, they had a nice future ahead.

The writer can express feelings in a good way .Its amazing and tells you what can happen in the real world. The writer explained the characters nicely and the words could of been better. The setting was good.
