Waking Up In The Morning

How I get up in the morning to go to school

Firstly the alarm goes off at 6:00 on the dot and then a mum screaming at you to get up. You just turn the alarm off for half an hour and ignore mum till you wake up propely. Then at 6:30 walk into the lounge looking like an ape get some weetbix and a coffee so that you will be energised for the day. When 7:00 on the clock starts go into your bedroom and slowly get dressed so your mum will pack your stuff for you. When you finally get dressed go into the bathroom and brush your hair until it is so smooth, after brushing your hair brush your teeth for two minutes. Then it will be about 8:00 and you walk out the door saying good bye and "love you" to your mum and walk off to school.

Biking Through The Forests

Biking through the forests was fun until we saw a bear following us. Michael was infront of me trying to get away. Michael kept telling me to hurry up but the bear was so cute I couldnt look away. I decided to stop and scare the bear away. I thought to my self to just leave it and catch up to michael but my brain kept telling me not to. I decided to chase it with my bike so it would go away. It finally went away so I told Michael to wait so I could catch up. He stopped 50 meters ahead and I speed up to tell him what I did. I thought to my self I should go back and see if it was alright but Michael just said to leave it because it might go crazy. So we just biked off into the sunset.

Heart Rate

  • What is heart rate: Heart rate is when your heart beats and you time it. It is measured to see if your heart is beating normal or badly.

  • What is the normal heart rate for someone my age-show how the calculation is worled out: The normal heart rate for a 12 year is 70-110bpm for girls and boys. A basic way to calculate it is get 220 and minus your age off it. That answer would be your maximim heart rate.

  • When you exersize your heart rate: Your heart rate would beat faster because when you breath it is hard to. It would increase and blood would start pumping faster.

  • How does heart rate change when you get older: When you grow older your heart rate goes lower  because it is harder to keep healthy when you are old. Even though you heart rate only goes down a notch  notch it still helps pump your blood through your system

  • How can you measure your hear rate: You can run for a while and then put your hand on your cheast and count the beats. You can feel your pulse and count it for a minute and that what would it would be.

Room43 Visit

Yesterday a group included me went to see the new classroom for the disabled. I met all the students and teachers there. Bobby Showed us around and told us the students names. I talked to Phoenix but I can't remember any of the other names. We saw the main room were everybody was and then we saw their offices. Their old classroom got burnt down by an electrical fault. It has to be rebuilt so there is a temporary. I thought that it was very cool to see the students.

Armageddon

On Saturday I went to Armageddon with Maia, Catherine and Tyla in Hamilton. It was at the Claudfield Arena. Armageddon was awesome because I met Celebrities like Gale Savil who plays Lisa Simpson of the Simpsons. It was so fun. Surprisingly I met the director of the Simpsons and he was so cool. Unfortunately I did not get his autograph because he was to busy drawing people. Even though the convention was not very big I still had so much fun. I brought a Darth Vader off Star Wars. It was a little plush toy and he was so cuddly and soft. Lots of things were expensive there but there were some thigns cheap you'll find it hard to believe. To tell the truth I thought the convention was going to a lot bigger.

A Science Discovery

A 15 year old boy called Jack Andraka has discovered a way to find pancreatic cancer. Jack from Maryland in America has made this so because Steve Jobs died of pancreatic cancer. This invention costs three cents and takes five minutes. Last month when he won 75 thousand dollars at the intel science fair he said that a friend died not that long ago which devastated him. Thanks to the test Jack hopes that patients could get a better chance to live and find help when it is to late. The test can also be used to find lung and overian cancer. The test works by having a drop of blood on a test strip which will determine if they carry the disease or not. The test is similar to diabetic tests. The test is 90% accurate but they are still working on it so that it will be 100% accurate.

Year 6 Science Experiements

In year 6 at Gate Pa school we had science day where we had to do one science experiment. My experiment was making a news paper tent for 6 people that would last for a night in the bush. It was one of the hardest thing I have ever done because we only had a roll of salotape and 10 sheets of newspaper. I was with a group of small people so we could squash in togther. We could try salotape the newspaper to the trees but it was very hard. My group tryed our hardest and we finished it but we stuggled so much. It was fun and challenging. I loved the task but also hated it because it took so long. We discovered that newspaper was not the best material because it was so soft. We noticed that it kept falling overand it kept braking because it was wet. The thing that worked was the mat because we didn't roll all over it and we put three layers down.

News Post

A US woman revealed her new face after a transplant today, six years after her ex-husband disfigured her by dousing her with industrial-strength lye, and said she went through "what some may call hell'' but has found a way to be happy.
Carmen Blandin Tarleton had face transplant surgery in February and spoke publicly for the first time at a news conference.
"I'm now in a better place, mentally and emotionally, than I ever could have imagined six years ago," Tarleton said. "I want to share my experience with others, so they may find that strength inside themselves to escape their own pain. In 2007, the 44-year-old mother of two was attacked by Herbert Rodgers, who believed she was seeing another man. Police say he struck her with a bat and poured lye - an industrial chemical - from a squeeze bottle onto her face.

Physical: P5. Complete in a sport for an entire season

Complete a sport for an entire season:

In term 1 of 2013 I joined trampoline. I have done trampolining so that I could get more flexible. I trilled for the best team called twisters but I didn't get in though I did get into the team just below of it called the flyers. I learnt how to do a back handspring and a triple front flip. My coach was Anita. Trampolining was every second Monday for me.

Trampolining was very fun and active because you were always doing something. My highlight was fliping on a mini tramp because it was so small. I still want to learn more which I am at home but not at school anymore.
Here is a picture of me doing a back hand spring

Ngamuwhine Camp

On the Sixth of May Rimu House went to Ngamuwhine camp lodge up at the Kaimais for 5 days. It includes of water and land activites. They were made to be challenging but fun at the same time so that we would have to work together as a team and co-operate.  Some of the activities needed peserverance to finish them.

I am proud of my self for getting to the top of the rock climbing wall because it is very slippery and the rocks are loose. The first section was quite easy but there was wet puddles in the holes you put your hands in. The second section was a bit harder because my harness get getting caught in the rocks above. The third section was a lot easier because the rocks were not as loose and they were dryer.

Belive it or not I made my bed everyday at camp but at home I never do. We had bunkroom expection which consisted of made beds no rubbish and our luggage all packed away. My stuff was all clean everyday but it was hard. I stuggled to keep my clothes in my bag but I managed to do it.

It made me laugh when I shot Mr Hart in the bottom 5 times. I thought he was trying to shot the other people in my team so I tryed to get him in the head but I didnt aim so well. He turned around to shoot me but he couldnt find me so he didnt bother. I had surrender after shooting because some one was right behind me.

The biggest challenge was getting up the vertical playpen because it was so wet. I managed to get up to second set of tires the second time but I could not get eny further then that. I had some help from Gene Jesse dad but it was hard because I am quite small. I found it fun but challenging.

The tastiest thing that I had to eat was the pumpkin because it was so juicy. I had eight pieces because it wasnt getting eaten. I ate so much food at camp my dad told me off. Though I like my mum'
s food I thought the camp food was better.

The most rewarding thing was getting to sleep in the bush for a hole night because my mum doesn't let me when I am at home. I loved being in the woods but it was very cold and dark. I loved telling stories at the camp fire and being warm. I thought it was a fun experience and I want to do it again. Sleeping was hard because it was uncomfortable but I did it.
