Today year 8 girls went to TGC for orientation day. Mrs Ferguson talked to us about heaps of stuff. We were given a pack by a teacher we went and saw with our guides. The deans for year 9s next year are Mrs Glaser Brown and Mrs Keightley. They will be looking after the year 8 girls this year that are going to be year 9 next year. My guide wasn't very helpful because she didn't talk loud enough when we asked questions. The motto for TGC is Pergo et Perago. That means I go on and finish. I thought it was quite boring doing the tour and sitting down because it was too stuffy and loud. We got talked to by the head girl Adriana Bird. She was really pretty and nice. Here is an image of us in the old gym getting talked too. I asked some questions and I saw my sister coming out of class. I waved to her but she called me a swear word. I am not ready for college.

Review: A book, a movie or a game
Identity Thief
Directed by Seth Gordon
Identity thief was created in 2013. It is an American crime/comedy film, written by Craig Mason and directed by Seth Gordon. The main characters are Melissa Mccarthy and Jason Bateman.
Sandy Patterson (Jason Bateman) gets a call from Melissa Mccarthy saying someone has attempted to steal his identity. Melissa Mccarthy gets his identity and now has all his money. She goes on a huge shopping spree using his identity and she gets caught. I wonder if you know what happens next?
I think this is the funniest movie and I give it 4 stars. The thing I didn't like about it was the swearing. There was way too much of it in the film.

Dystopian Picture
People smell the toxic fumes that are polluting the air. The cars are passing out fumes and all you smell is disgusting stuff from the cars and the huge pipes at a factory. Smell the smoke. Smoke black as the night sky when it is pitch black with no stars or moon showing.
People hear all the cars engine and lights. The pipes in the factory set off huge noises which spread around the country. All the people yelling at each other about the traffic and that makes babies scream. Noises as loud as an elephant charging at her enemies which are trying to get her baby.
All around is the dark black clouds of pollution going into the air and the cars not going anywhere. The lights of the cars are flashing. All these huge pipe will block peoples view of the sky. The sky is grey and not blue. You see so many cars that you think you are looking at all the types of candy in a candy shop.
You feel all the cars crowding up around like a litter of kittens that are warm and wanting cuddles. You feel the warmth. You feel all the black clouds going into the air. You can feel your getting tighter clenching on to the steering wheel.
You can taste the fumes going into your mouth when you breathe. You also taste the food that you ate before hand coming up your throat try to get out because you want to vomit.

Dialogue
A discussion with miss C about your behavior this year:
Miss C" How do you think you behavior has been this year?"
Me" I think I have been alright what do you think?"
Miss C" I agree you have done well, do you know anything you need to improve on?"
Me" I need to improve on making my homework more neater and making it a higher level!"
Miss C" Yes that is a good point, you homework level has been quite low so improve on that!"
Me"I will try make it to a higher standard so I can be on the excellence list!"
Mrs Mills speaking to students about the year 8 final assembly:
Mrs Mills" What do you think about the year 8 assembly length?"
Students" We think it is too long, 3 hours is a long time!"
Mrs Mills" Yeah 3 hours is long but it is long because of all the awards and singing and trophies!"
Students" What if you are not getting an award or trophy what will we be doing?"
Mrs Mills" You will be sitting down cheering for the people that do get the awards!"
Students" I guess at least one of my friends will be getting an award so I will cheer for them!"
Mr Scholes questioning you about your academic progress this year:
Mr Scholes" Do you know what the national standard is for the end of year 8?"
Me" Is it 4p-4a or somewhere around that?"
Mr Scholes" Yes it is have you remembered it from when you teachers have told you?"
Me" Yes and I have seen it on the board a couple times!"
Mr Scholes" That is good that you have remembered it not many kids know what it is!"
Me" Thank you I will try to get up to the standard by the end of the year!"

Poem
Rain
It poured
Nobody stopped Rimu
We headed to waimarino
I got to waimarino safely
I didn't stay dry
Kayaking was cold
I moaned
Freezingly
Diving
I did
Most of time
The blob was great
I went on it once
I Bombed two times
My dad came
Weather changed
Heaps
Cold
Not allowed
We couldn't swear
Or say those words
We had to do pushups
I completed the swimming
Challenge without trouble
I wasn't
warm

Blog Post
- Go to the attitude website and take the personality survey.
- Write a summary of your person type
- Write the 4 messages Dave from attitude had for us yesterday and explain what they mean
I am 34% Otter: That means I like to have fun, I am bright and funny. I am also 19% beaver, 22% Golden retriever and 25% lion. I am kind, I love challenges. I am enthusiastic. Otters are creative love to have fun and are always friendly. They always try to make things fun and like doing fun challenges.
Yesterday when Dave came to talk to us he had 4 messages which were: Try something new, Dump dumb thoughts, Help others and do the write things.
Try something new: Go out and do new things with your friends. If you think of something to do and you are scared just try it because you will most likely have heaps of fun. You will be much happier looking if you try something that you haven't before.
Dump dumb thoughts: When you think you can't do it just take that thought away and say you can do it. You will be brighter if you make these thoughts go away. Count to 100 and your bad thoughts will go away.
Help others: When someone like an old lady needs help carrying her groceries ask her and you will make her day. When kids fall over and hurt themselves go up to them ask if they are okay and help them up. Helping others is friendly and if you help them.

12 Hour Relay
It was Friday and I was prepared
I was honestly so scared
When the starting noise went everyone was off
I had a really bad cough
With my first run I had to find the right pace
12 hour relay was such a big race
I did 16 laps not as much as last year
This track that we ran on was clear
I was chased on a bike three times
I wondered how the teachers put out the lines
Where the tent was it was in a perfect spot for me
Though a lot of times I had to go pee
At the end of the day heaps of people were sore
The highlight of the day was what the people wore
The field was so packed
Luckily My bones didn't crack
The sun was so strong but then the weather went bad
When I got picked up I went and saw my dad
I brought heaps of water in the day
All I wanted to do was go home and be away.
